Our Forestry Technician, Bebo, is enthusiastically dedicated to being an attentive steward of our Sierra Foothills ecosystem. After studying Anthropology at Santa Clara University, Bebo spent many years traveling and working on vegetable farms in Virginia, Montana, and California, learning to pay close attention to plants. Upon returning to California, he found a home in an intentional community near Nevada City that aims to thoughtfully tend the portion of the Nisenan homeland we inhabit. Bebo also works as a sawyer and prescribed burn technician throughout Nevada County. He spends his leisure time running, biking, swimming, potlucking, carving little wooden spoons, reading about complex systems science, and walking slowly through the forest wondering what the birds are talking about.
