Sci Pubs are regular science pop ups hosted by SSI where folks get to learn about different science topics while enjoying a nice cold beverage. Regional scientists give a 45 minute lecture about their area of expertise, typically a regional science topic. The audience gets an opportunity to ask their related burning science questions and get an in depth look into a wide variety of subjects. Previous Sci Pub topics include: Wolves in California, Sierra Nevada Rock Art, Community Advocacy of the Bear River, and Fire Ecology (to name a few!). Our regular Sci Pubs typically require a projector, screen and speakers, which we are happy to provide.

Science & Sip

SSI is introducing a new series called Science & Sip which is a little less formal than Sci Pub, these events focus on casual science conversations with more audience participation. We bring a science specialist and an SSI employee who asks questions and engages the audience through interactive science discussion. These conversations do not require any special equipment and focus on audience driven participation.
