Inge Ivens

Inge first learned about Sierra Streams Institute more than 10 years ago as a summer visitor to the Sierra Foothills and Deer Creek. Inge recently moved  from the Bay area to Nevada City with her husband and their Labrador Yuba. She has a master’s degree in zoology and plant physiology followed by a Ph.D. in neurobiology from RWTH Aachen in Germany; later earning a national board certification as a toxicologist in the US.  She has worked for several leading Bay area biotechnology companies as a toxicologist in the areas of hematology and oncology. She also has experience with insecticide and heavy metal toxicities and has worked extensively with global agencies such as FDA, EPA, EMA, OECD. She is looking forward to supporting the mission and work of SSI.
