Emma Walker

BMI Lab Manager

Emma grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She received a BS from the University of Miami with a double major in Biology and Ecosystem Science and Policy, and a minor in French. Emma has previously worked for several different nonprofits in a variety of roles, facilitating habitat restoration projects, supporting community sustainability and zero waste initiatives, and writing educational articles on climate change solutions. Most recently, she worked as a Natural Resource Field Technician for Devils Postpile National Monument, collecting data relating to water and air quality, as well as vegetation and wildlife population surveys. There, she fell in love with the Sierra Nevada mountains and joined the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership (SNAP) to continue to work to protect this incredible area. She will be working in the water quality lab as the AmeriCorps River Scientist. In her free time, Emma loves hiking, scuba diving, painting, and reading.
