Mae grew up in a very small town in Northern California called Georgetown. She is a recent graduate of Sacramento State University with a degree in Environmental Studies. She came to work with SSI because she had previously interned with the organization during the 2025 field season. This is when she fell in love with field work, and conservation through community science. Mae is an avid backpacker, hiker, snowboarder, and a beginner rock climber. She has a wild fascination with bugs and their odd beauty, so I have spent some time collecting only bug tattoos. Some of her favorite locations in California include Auburn, Mammoth Lakes, Joshua Tree, and of course my backyard the El Dorado National Forest. She is very excited to begin work with Sierra Streams again, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of her life learning.
