Ren Stone

Ren is a Grass Valley local, born and raised in the Sierras. They attended Sierra College before transferring to UC Davis, where they received their BS in plant sciences. During their undergraduate degree they worked as a research assistant in a plant physiology lab, studying the effects of drought on common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris). After graduating, they moved back to Grass Valley and found an opportunity to employ their scientific background in service to their community through the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership (SNAP) program. They are now acting as the Chem Lab Manager for SSI. In their free time, Ren enjoys gardening, hiking and relaxing in downtown Grass Valley.
