Citizen Scientists Wanted for Bear River iNaturalist Project

CALLING ALL CITIZEN SCIENTISTS: We have started a new project on iNaturalist.org that needs your help! If you find yourself within one mile of the Bear River, along the stretch between the Combie and Rollins Reservoirs, please submit photos of any organisms (plants, animals, fungi, etc.) you see in the “Bear River Watershed – Centennial Dam Area” project that we have created on iNaturalist. For those of you who are not familiar with it, iNaturalist is an online social network of people sharing biodiversity information to learn more about nature – it is also a crowd-sourced species identification system and an organism recording tool for the collection of data by citizens which is used by scientists to answer questions about biodiversity and climate change.  We are looking for any and all observations along this 6 mile stretch of the Bear River – please spread the word to your friends and email our AmeriCorps River Scientist & Education Coordinator Chloe Tremper (chloe@sierrastreamsinstitute.org) with any questions.

Not an iNaturalist user but want to take part in this project? Follow these simple steps on the iNaturalist website to get started: http://www.inaturalist.org/pages/getting+started
