Bear Yuba Land Trust (BYLT) honored Joanne Hild, Sierra Streams Institute’s Executive Director, with the William “Bill” Nickerl Award for Conservation Leadership Award. The award presentation will take place Thursday, March 22nd at this year’s Oak Tree Ball, a fundraiser for the Bear Yuba Land Trust. We hope you can join us in congratulating Joanne!
“I am thrilled to be recognized for the work I am so passionate about. I want to thank my team, especially our staff, board members and volunteers, at Sierra Streams for all their amazing and creative work and enthusiasm. I believe this is just the beginning of our vision to involve more of our community members in all of our work. With the development of Sierra Streams Institute for Environmental and Citizen Science, we strive to increase our efforts to engage the community and train citizens in scientific protocol. Our hope is that this will increase trust in sound data while preparing citizen scientists with the tools needed to make an impact and promote conservation throughout our community. “ – Joanne Hild
